You are very welcome here at
Well, against all odds we made it through the longest summer. We've adventured, we've created, we've learned in new and unexpected ways, but now the schools are back open and its time to skip back into the classroom (Oi! No skipping in the corridors!)
I wanted to let you know a little about how I envisage Greenhouse Learning to look as we move into Autumn term 2020-21 and beyond. Like most children, I too have returned to the classroom and as such I will not have the time on my hands to develop whole school resources anymore. I will primarily be focusing on the Lower Key Stage 2 age group, which in England is Year 3 and Year 4 (Year 2 children and Year 5 children may find some of these activities useful too). In the meantime, if I find resources that work for other year groups, I will of course upload them. In terms of my upload schedule, I will no longer be updating the site daily; this will be unmanageable at the moment, so it'll be a bit freer than that. The resources I will be creating from hereon-in will be pitched specifically at my class rather than for a wider audience. Hopefully you will still find them useful. So, what are my aims for this website going forward? Well, first I intend to overhaul the metadata that is stored on each post. In layman's speak, that means that the website will be easier to search through, and you should be able to find activities that match the subject or objective you are after. This will take time though, as I must put my job first. Consider this a bit of a passion project. My second hope, which is quite a way off, is to move into vlogging and/or podcasting to supplement the resources on the website and to build an audience. I have a strong background in media production, having won awards for radio presenting and gained employment on national and commercial radio stations. In short, I feel that I can deliver something really special in this area... but only when I have the means and the time to do so. And thirdly, on the subject of audience, I hope to build a community of educators, parents and students who will regularly interact with posts and resources, providing useful feedback and quality examples of learning that can be displayed in my gallery. Anyway, I have rambled on for long enough. Have a wonderful autumn term and happy learning! Mr Green
